NEW PUSKÁS FERENC STADIUM

Categories: Szerkezetépítés
Details of the project

The largest domestic construction project of recent decades, the Puskás Aréna—with a seating capacity of 67,000—began construction in 2017 and was inaugurated on November 15, 2019.

With a gross floor area of 208,000 square metres and a net budget of HUF 142.85 billion, the national stadium stands as one of the most outstanding achievements of the Hungarian construction industry.

Bayer Construct Zrt. played a key role in executing the monolithic reinforced concrete structure of the arena, working in collaboration with Épszerk-Pannónia Invest Kft. and Sankó-Ép Kft. The project was commissioned by the West Hungária Bau–Magyar Építő consortium. During the structural works, approximately 700 workers were on-site daily, supported by 16 tower cranes and five mobile cranes. A particular challenge was the strict adherence to tight deadlines from the outset.

The stadium’s iconic appearance is defined by the pylons that preserve the traditions of the old Népstadion. These required complex engineering solutions. Bayer Construct Zrt., in close cooperation with a formwork technology company, the architect, the structural engineer, and the formwork designer, developed the optimal structural solutions.
