Our quarry is situated near Ártánd, on its southern outskirts, along main road 42.
Similar to the gravel quarry in Kiskunlacháza, the extraction of the gravel material typical of the region is carried out by a newly manufactured Fiebig suction dredger. This represents the most modern and efficient form of gravel mining, with a particular emphasis on environmental protection — the dredger is almost entirely automated and operates exclusively on electric power.
Onboard the vessel, the wet material is transferred from a large-diameter dewatering wheel onto a horizontal vibrating table, where further dewatering occurs before it moves onto waterborne conveyor belts heading toward the shore. The floating conveyors, equipped with 800 mm wide belts, transport the extracted, dewatered material to the shore, each driven by an individual electric motor, with zero emissions.
On land, an electrically powered shore conveyor continues transporting the material, which is deposited in a high-capacity raw material stockpile directly in front of the gravel classifier.
