FLOOD PROTECTION DEVELOPMENT OF THE LOWER TISZA REGION

Categories: Mély- és vízépítés
Details of the project

The project encompassed four main tasks: the construction of floodgates on the Dong-ér and Sámson-Apátfalva main canals, as well as the development of levees along the left banks of the Tisza and the Hármas-Körös rivers.

As part of the levee development on the left bank of the Tisza, Bayer Construct Zrt. carried out 620,000 cubic meters of earthworks over a length of 5,442 meters and constructed 5.4 kilometers of road along the flood protection embankment. The company also renovated the sluice structure at Kurca-torok, which is listed as a protected monument, commissioned by Colas Alterra Építőipari Zrt.
Additional subcontracted tasks included the construction of floodgates on the Dong-ér and Sámson-Apátfalva main canals and levee reinforcement along the left banks of the Tisza and the Hármas-Körös rivers.
In the vicinity of the triple-barreled, double-gated sluice floodgates on the Dong-ér and Sámson-Apátfalva canals, Bayer reinforced the levee along 100 meters on each side and constructed pumping stations.
On the left bank of the Hármas-Körös, a 4.3-kilometer-long road was built, and 400,000 cubic meters of earth was moved during the earthworks.
The sluice structure at Felső-Kurca was completely reconstructed.
The aim of the project was to improve flood protection in the Lower Tisza region.
