One of the most spectacular events of the 2017 FINA World Championships held in Hungary was the high diving competition. A stunning 33-meter-high, 65-ton diving tower was erected in Budapest, on the section of the Danube in front of Batthyány Square, directly opposite the Parliament. The construction of the monolithic reinforced concrete structure of the tower and the related facilities was carried out by Bayer Construct Zrt., commissioned by West Hungária Bau (WHB) Kft. During the works, 1,250 cubic meters of concrete and 103 tons of rebar were used. A major challenge throughout the project was the constantly changing water level of the Danube, which had to be monitored 24/7, with construction work adjusted accordingly.
